The fight that we’ve all been waiting for had proven that Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao is indeed a great fighter that even the bigger guy, Joshua Clottey, didn’t stand a chance. Manny Pacquiao defended his welterweight belt against the Ghanian fighter Joshua Clottey with a unanimous win after 12 rounds. Manny Pacquiao won on all the 12 rounds.

Joshua Clottey was a defensive player in all the 12 rounds and gets over 30 shots per round only while Manny Pacquiao does not go less than 90 shots per round. With the heavy defense of Clottey, Manny still managed to get several heavy shots from the first round and all Manny points for each round. On the second round, Clottey was able to land some good jabs too but still, Manny Pacquiao dominated. Third, Manny caught Clottey with a left uppercut while Clottey was successful with his straight right hand. In the fourth round, Pacquiao threw a double-handed punch which the referee warned him about. From 5th to 12th rounds, Manny Pacquiao continued to dominate while Joshua Clottey was hesitant with opening up and landing some shots on Pacquiao.

Joshua Clottey’s team are informing him during the breaks that he has to open up and start landing punches if he wants to get a chance in the fight or else he’d be going home a winner. Still, up to the very end, Joshua Clottey kept his high defense and landing very few punches.

Manny Pacquiao landed 246 out of his 1,231 punches while Clottey only landed 108 out of his 399 punches in 12 rounds.

If there’s anything Clottey can be proud of with his fight with Manny Pacquiao is that he didn’t get knocked down and stood all the 12 rounds with the best pound for pound fighter in the world today.
