Eraserheads Reunion Concert 2008
Sunday, July 13th, 2008
It’s confirmed. The original Eraserheads will reunite!
Attention all Eraserheads fans out there, what you think is just a dream will soon become a reality. After all these years, finally we will see the original members of the greatest pinoy band all together and singing their most popular songs from the 90’s. Nope, unfortunately, it’s not a permanent thing. They’ll just be having a one night show at the CCP Open Grounds this August 30, 2008 where they will sing our favorite songs such as Alapaap, Ang Huling El Bimbo and of course Toyang.
So how did this become a reality? Well, it turns out that there is a big company who convinced the band members to be together once again to make their die hard fans happy and reminisce the old times. The said company does not want to have its identity disclosed though as of the moment.
Will this be a start of rekindling the old friendship that Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala and Raimund Marasigan used to have? Who knows what would happen after this one night show but everyone’s hoping that this won’t be the last that we’ll see them together. Who knows, maybe a new album would come out of this.
Now, I want a free tickets...

Remembering Eraserheads
Monday, June 30th, 2008I loved Eraserheads since I was in high school and even up until now. Listening to their songs bring back a lot of beautiful memories. It’s like a trip down memory lane… Eraserheads or E-heads as some would call them had written tons of beautiful songs. Their albums were Pop U!, UltraelectromagneticPop!, Circus, Cutterpillow (one of my favorite album), Fruitcake, Bananatype, Sticker Happy, Aloha Milkyway, Natin ’99, Eraserheads- the Singles, Carbon StereOxide, then Please Tranpose in 2003. The band members were Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adora and Buddy Zabala. Ely then decided to leave the band in 2002 and since then the band eventually died though Eraserheads had made a name for itself that will never ever be erased in the minds of Filipinos. Eraserheads is like the Beatles of the Philippines. They paved the way for other bands like Parokya ni Edgar and Rivermaya. Eraserheads is the greatest band in the Philippines and the one who started it all.
have I found a band that could compare to Eraserheads. I simply love the songs they made like Ligaya, Para sa Masa, Alapaap, Julie Tear Jerky, Overdrive, Ang Huling El Bimbo and a lot more. I can listen to their songs over and over again and never grow tired at all. Their songs are the best… simply the best.A few years after the break-up, the tribute album “Electromagneticjam!” was released. Eraserheads classics were remade by Filipino artists like Imago, South Border and Orange and Lemons in honor of the band. This did cause quite a stir especially for Ely Buendia who thought it was too early to have a tribute. Nonetheless, the tribute was a success and it gave the fans the chance to relive the E-heads days with a more recent rendition.
I really miss this group. How I wish they could make great songs again. I wish they would bring back the alternative rock madness that enticed the country for 1 whole decade… the 90’s. The present bands make good songs too but they are just not like the E-heads. Eraserheads will live on in our hearts.

Iron Man by Black Sabbath
Sunday, April 13th, 2008A lot of people are asking about the title of one of the song played on Iron Man the Movie, the title is Iron Man by Black Sabbath. Play the mp3 music below:
BLACK SABBATH IRON MAN LYRICS
Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
why should we even care?
He was turned to steel
in the great magnetic field
When he travelled time
for the future of mankind
Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
that he will soon unfurl
Now the time is here
for Iron Man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved
Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge
Heavy boots of lead
fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron Man lives again!
The Dawn
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008The Dawn had been playing music for two decades and they continue to strive despite their losses and eventual changes in their lineup. Currently, the dawn is made up of Jett Pangan on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Buddy Zabala, a former Eraserheads member, for bass guitar and back up vocals, JB Leonor on drums and Francis Reyes on guitar and back-up vocals. This is the 8th line-up in the 22 years of The Dawn and from 1986 Jett Pangan and JB Leonor never left the band.
The Dawn was formed by Teddy Diaz, the former keyboardist, guitarist and back-up vocalist of the band. After two years of escalating popularity, tragedy struck and Teddy Diaz was murdered by two drug addicts in front of his girlfriend’s house. This tragedy shocked the country and other members of The Dawn were in mourning. Instead of giving up on their careers, they made the death of their former band mate as an inspiration to keep them going. Matsuura was introduced as the new guitarist but because of personal difference he was then replaced by a former Afterimage guitarist, Francis Reyes. Then in 1990, Millete Saldajeno also joined the group but was then replaced by Isidore Fernandez after 2 years. The band broke up in 1995 to pursue different careers but they again reunited in 1999 and continued to make beautiful and unique songs up until now that topped the charts.
The members of The Dawn are not just playing music now. In 2006 they had a movie entitled “Tulad Ng Dati” which is a semi-autobiography of the band.
In 2006 they had celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band and they released their anniversary album also entitled “Tulad Ng Dati” which is a compilation of their many hits that have been re-recorded. It’s a 2-disc album with the first disc containing their hit songs while the 2nd disc contains videos. Their carrier single is “Ang Iyong Paalam”.
The Dawn is the Philippines’ Premiere Rock Band. They have withstood the test of time and no other rock bands in the country could beat their record for longevity. For 20 years they are still rocking the airwaves with new hits that continue to top the chart and their previous songs are now considered classics and are still being played on radios throughout the country. They may be getting old but they are not fading.
They released a total of 13 albums over their 20 years in the music industry. Their first album was self-titled “The Dawn” back in 1986 followed by “I Stand With You” in 1988 then “Beyond the Bend” in 1989, “The Dawn-Live” also in 1989, “Heart’s Thunder”, “The Dawn Compilation”, “Iisang Bangka Greatest Hits” in 1990, “Abot Kamay” in 1992, “Puno’t Dulo” in 1994, “The Dawn: OPM Timeless Collection (Gold Series compilation)” in 1997, “Prodigal Sun” in 2000, “Harapin” in 2004, and their 20th anniversary album “Tulad Ng Dati” in 2006.
