UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar

UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on November 15, 2008 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event will feature the return of UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture versus Brock Lesnar in a title bout.

After his win at UFC 90, former Lightweight champ Sean Sherk said he would like to face the winner of Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson which would most likely determine the number one contender for the UFC Lightweight Championship.

Matt Riddle was forced to withdraw from his bout with Ryan Thomas due to an injury. Matt Brown will be his replacement.

Amir Sadollah withdrew from his fight against Nick Catone due to a leg infection. A replacement for Sadollah could not be found, therefore the middleweight bout was scrubbed from the card. A welterweight match between Dustin Hazelett and Tamdan McCrory, previously scheduled for the preliminary card will now be on the main card.

Obama’s Victory Speech Video

Finally, after a long hard battle by Senator Barack Obama, he is now officially the President of the United States. He is the first black president of the United States over a landslide victory against Senator John McCain. His election as president may pave the way for change to the United States of America.

The Democratic Party celebrated for the victory of their presidential candidate Barack Obama but they are also celebrating their majority in the House of Senate! So what awaits the United States’ president as he sits on his presidential chair? There are many issues to tackle that affects everyone around the world such as the global warming and the worst financial crisis of the century as well as terrorism and poverty.

During his first speech as the winner of the election, he said that he will be challenged by the two greatest challenges of a lifetime; the global warming and the crisis and he also added that he promises to be honest with each of the problems he face even if not everyone would agree with his decisions.

On the other hand, Senator John McCain also ended his dream of becoming president and said that the American people have spoken clearly. At his age, this was his last fight for Presidency.

It was indeed a close fight with 52% of votes for Obama and 47% of votes for McCain but Obama got 338 Electoral Votes while McCain only got 141 and because of this, Obama was declared the winner because a candidate only needs 270 electoral votes to be announced as the winner.

So, is Obama’s win the answer to the world’s financial crisis? Will this be the end to America’s political problems and horrible government? It’s too early to say but let’s just hope that the majority elected the right person for the most important job not only in the United States but throughout the world.
